Hay algo particular en los años de Mundial: por unas semanas, el mundo entero parece darse permiso para olvidar las preocupaciones y las diferencias.

Adolescentes de varias partes del mundo comparten su pasión por el fútbol mientras se adaptan a una nueva cultura a través del programa “Soccer without borders” en East Boston.

With the World Cup approaching, a Bay Area nonprofit soccer program is reminding the community that the sport represents far more than competition.

“Soccer is used as a vehicle for positive change. It’s needed so much here in Baltimore. Things can go sideways for a lot of us as refugees,” Hussin said. “All on the same field from all over the world, and the one language everybody spoke was soccer.”
